Camera Tests

As part of the rehearsal process, technical equipment will undergo a thorough review if it has been borrowed before the start of shooting. In a camera test additional, often critical, shooting situations are tried out, to see whether they can be implemented in the intended way. This includes a general look test in which shots are recorded in varying setups and tested for their effect, often during cast rehearsals. Examples of critical shooting situations can be shooting with candlelight or underwater. A camera test can also be combined with costume and make-up rehearsals to judge how things look on camera. The result is viewed in the output format, for example on a monitor or a standardized cinema screen.
